The Bayelsa State Scholarship Board has appealed to students of the state origin in higher institutions of learning in Nigeria to exercise patience as their bursary allowances would be paid very soon.
Chairman of the board, Foster Ogola, said in a statement on Wednesday in Yenagoa that Governor Seriake Dickson had redeemed his pledged in March by releasing N200 million for the bursary payment.
He explained that the payment, which would be in stages, is only for the 2013/2014 academic session.
Ogola informed the benefiting students that the online registration for bursary entitlement shall commence on Monday, August 18, via the Bayelsa State website:www.bssb-gov.com.
He noted that students of the state who are scholarship beneficiaries in the U.K. had received payments from the £1 million earlier released by the governor for their welfare even as their schools had also received their respective tuition fees.
Ogola said the governor had also approved another N200 million for part-payment of tuition and monthly upkeep entitlements for students of the state in all other countries except the U.K. and Nigeria.

"WHILE THE BLIND SEE POWER, THE VISUAL SEES SERVICE:
Without vision the people perish, these were the words of our Almight Creator.
Does people actually see or they do not even when their eyes are open?
I guess is not all whose eyes are open that can see beyond their nose.
Look at Seriake Dickson, how do you categorize this autocrat?
If Dickson actually had foresight as a Charge-&-Bail Lawyer, an Ex-Policeman & a Wrestling Champion, he would learned & shown experience than been autocrat.
Dickson's blunt attitude of governance is devoid of directness, a minus & sadist who found his perfect place in revile.
Politics is sometimes tough when the man on the table does not feet the stand profile.
When people arrogate politics with some form of arrogance, impose disrespect & look down on the electorates, the end result is a very short story to tell.
You know what happens to birds who don't fly straight?
INTERESTING:
Dickson is autocratic, rude, peremptory in manners, & knows all but gives nothing in all.
When did we turned democracy to monocracy & despotism?
Look at how Tonye Okio was put to detention like a common criminal in a system of democracy where rights of individuals are exercised in total freedom of speech?
Look at Frank an Ex-militant Leader who had been in Okaka Prisons for over 2 years, disallowed from attending court, & family members.
Frank was the man who rented buses for Dickson on his elections.
In Southern Ijaw, it was myself, Joshua Machiver & the present Speaker Bayelsa State House of Assembly that brought our hard earned physical monies to assist modestly in rented boats.
At Nembe, Chief James Jepthar alias (Black Jesus & Octopus) was the picture.
Dickson by then was surving on borrowed monies, & gifts, not even one hundred thousand Naira would he boast of, & today, because he stored monies in Indomine Cattons, he's bent on anybody who make media statements against his nepotist government.
A Government where Dickson is the Headmaster, the teacher, & the same time, the student?
I have learned that people get opportunities even when they were wrestling champions, at times when no one would had nothing to do with them in society.
People like Dickson who couldn't afford feeding his own mother, even as a Member of the Federal House of Reps.
Goodluck Jonathan carry walking stick give am, he carry am hit him Principal first, enter the teachers, even unto his own people, the students?
The worst form of DEMOCRACY is AUTOCRACY.
A government that does not join on the very forms that could build lasting peace in our local communities?
Now there had been guns all over the streets of Yenagoa.
Politicians are afraid to talk, killings are on.
Two days ago, persons were gunned down around Tombia-Round-About very close to a police check van.
For me, my story is not a new version, except you're a new person in Yenagoa.
Twice have they attempted with police vans to take my life, & nearly there had been a gun battle between the SPU men attached to my company & the assasins.
On my company site, we've been following up a Black Tinted Prado Jeep with no plate number, & unknown gunmen that went asking after me.
All my houses in my village has been destroyed, & properties looted by S.A..Security & Remember Ogbe's task force men, four days ago my cousin was shoot in his speed boat for seen three 25 litres of empty plastic cans, in my village.
The bullet also affected his private part, & had been hospitalized in yenagoa, but i laughed at them, since i am untop of the matters in Abuja, with my sound lawyer & friend Festus Keyamo.
The IGP had ordered for an immediate investigation, & produce all of those who were involved.
Governor Dickson is a fool, & will ever remain a fool at almost 50, for bitting the very hands, & Principal that crowned him.
I don't know if he thinks he was better more than every other persons in Bayelsa, that brought him the opportunity?
Imagine how Civil Servants salaries are sliced, & Political Appointees, Roads abandoned, & billions are spent on Fashion Parades & AMAA Awards?
This is a shame & sad story to tell.
But i advice you Bayelsans to take heart,
Dicksons story will end a very short history to tell.
Nonsense...............................................
My Name is Paul Eris (Ogunboss)"

DEAR Niger Delta Youths For Credible Leadership, Your Majesties, Elders & Chiefs, other Comrades, Ladies & Gentlemen, if I am wearing a hat & do not remove it as a gesture of respect before bowing down my head, I will not set a good sign of Royalty, & therefore, unbehalf of ALL EX-AGITATORS, Shall I gladly say "THANK YOU" in bold words.
I want to say you have planted a layout in the history of time, & set a table of sparkling light that'll continue to shine even after Jonathan's 8 years.
Today, you have equipped us with everything, all the strength, the power & energy necessary to set a basic dinner that'll clear the tongue & bunches of Old Rubbish fools, who afterthoughts, does not have a Garden in Aso-Rock planted by Northerner Principalities.
We'll be courageous & undismayed in the face of odds, or neither permit anyone to intimidate or deter us from the face of this crawling injustice towards the people of the South-South.
I was gladly yawned when i went through your Press Statement drawn to the ill-fated publication, credited to Alhaji Nasir El Rufai, who on a footprint had falsely stated that, "A serving Presidential Adviser mobilized ex-militants to serve as thugs in the ongoing Gubernatorial elections in Osun State".
Shortly after going through your reactions, I was turned off on a table & immediately fell asleep.
You're rebuilding the Rail-Road, destroyed years ago by opportunists of contagious corruption that has eaten Nigeria in spontaneous combustion.
For whatever reason, Nasir El Rufai had made such statement, to the prudent, "we (North) don't want to perform", that's what it means.
That was the indiscipline of a ruffled neck politician who lost his son 2 weeks ago in a ghastly car crash along Abuja.
A man who is not thrilled by the sudden pass away of his son, who does not obtain the skill of sorrow & pain in times of death, El Rufai is nothing but a realistic cannibal.
He leaves nothing but unpleasant memories greatly worn by deceit, despotism & monocracy.
Every building, no matter how small or big, begins with a footprint.
We (ex-militants) have left a footprint, the efforts to think properly, identifying with Nigerians, making pleasant decisions, the effects of a genuine goal, & time management.
Allowing times to practically & systematically set out goals, those measurable steps that designed the glamouring Agitation for a political-space, resource-control & self-determination, except there's victory vividly imagined or won without running the risk of discipline?
DISCIPLINE, that was our footprint, our watch word. If we have not listened to Nigerians on the need for peace today, our eyes fixed on the urgent would have not crowded the important.
When others feared that OUR GOAL (The Niger Delta Struggle) was not perfector to a system monopolized by few, they only ended up by been too presumptuous.
For ALHAJI NASIR EL RUFAI:
(a).. We warn that we are not Boko Haram, & never should be treated or addressed as such.
(b)... We request from hence that, we should be addressed as Ex-Agitators & not Ex-Militants.
(c)... That prior to the mental state of your mind's laziness, be informed that there's no Ex-militant, or leader serving as Special Adviser to the president on any of the Federal portfolio's.
(d)... That you're advised to make an open letter of apology on all National Dailys, for misinforming Nigerians, therefore creating cynic of ridicules.
(e). That it is important to listen to sound & good advice, because nothing is impossible to the willing heart, cause if you're thrown mud on the face, it means you never read the sign on the door, before coming in.
Lastly, that if this conditions are not meant within a short period of time, we'll stand by the silence of the last words spoken by "NIGERCREL", & 13 other Niger Delta Groups.
"Niger Delta "A-NO-GO-AREA".

Comrade Eris Paul |
Mr President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Sir,
I have come to the knowledge that certain persons who had gain control in Government are after my life in Bayelsa your home State.
Today, i would like to discuss them more throughly.
Because, if their origin, ruthlessness & overuse of power is made clear, it will be easier to provide a remedy. God knows i would never win a standing army for the uprising, that had the backing of a State Gov't, may be they'll hire foreign troops also, what about the men on uniform?
Well the ones i saw were mercenaries from the State Gov't. A Gov't who should have thrown herself on the mercy of the people, are bent on the traditions of the old; "Do or Kill". I mean, the errors of every Gov't is like a pregnancy, no matter how you try to cover them, her health, vitality, & energy will definately show up someday, unlike a character, it will exercise herself someday.
It was on the 25th of Febuary 2013, a white Hilux with Plate Number (YEN 157 AA) made their first attempt in my country home Yenagoa, the gunmen numbering about 6 & a driver on mufti had followed me all the way from Ekeki Police Station, it was an arrowing experience too ugly to share, but as like God will have it, my men had radioed my home from a far distance, & instructed the gateman to carefully open the gate down, & i quickly drove my way inside, while the followers was intercepted by my Special Protection Unit (SPU) men, who had provided cover on the road since from the point of follow up.
Investigation shows that the Van was a Police vehicle, & the story is well known, but noon of the Security Agencies had responded to my cry.
"Precursory they say is the heart of a strongman who'll not provoke revenge on the hatred of extraordinary vices under the influence of Gov't alcohol".
Anyway, it was not entirely new even, as most Gov't will actualy leave a tooth-stone on the streets before compeleting their tenors in Nigeria. THE QUESTION IS, WHO IS AFTER OGUNBOSS IN BAYELSA STATE?
Sometime 6th of May 2014 was another arrowing experience, but this time it was around 11:48pm in the night, a COMPOSITE PRINCIPALITY & DISORDER AGAIN: Another white Hilux with about 7 men on Police Uniforms, AK 47 with 3 Magazines each had stormed, strongly hitting on my gate.
"OPERATION DOO-AKPO"
VAN BODY (010)
PLATE NO: 'SAG 54 AA'.
DISTRESS LINE: 0700-64-64-644.
They had already forced their way inside my compound, through the pedestrian, as the gate-man tried to know who the hitting was. 4 men came in, unknown to us that 2 & a driver was hanging outside my fence.
I was bent discussing family issues with members, knowing had invited no policeman, or neither call any. It was an unpleasant experience, & i had to quickly sneaked through the back & run upstairs, while watching them through my security camaras, someone had already turned on the danger alarm, & i watched my security men from the SPU appeared, & surrendered them not to move an inch.
While the fragment was on, had quickly put the Commissioner of Police on call, & informed him of the Composite Principality & Disorder of a silent night, playing in my compound.
The Police Boss had ordered to take their names & force numbers first, & then the Vehicle Plate number.
"Jesus Christ"....., the plural form of a common noun capitalized as part of a proper name, it was risky for me to go downstairs.
I better put my men on radio call, which i did & instructions were carried out immediately.
However, it was rarely unacceptable when my men continued to question them (unknown gunmen), it was like a line of quoted poetry, "we came to greet him", my men continued...."greet who"?
The gunmen replied, "Gnrl Ogunboss", unknown to them that i was already in their mix with a half torn-boxer, ten-toes, a dirty-half torned singlet, & face-cap?
To assure plausibility in a factional narrative incidence, my men had meet another 2 on police uniforms & a driver hanging on my fence while going to get the Hilux Plate Number.
The Commissioner of Police had offered a complimentary that night, demanding the unknown gunmen & Van report to his office the following morning.
But up till today, nothing tangible has been made public, "a gentleman has worn a dark suit".
Like the story of Cain & Abel in the Bible, "am i my brother's keeper?" Cain replied God.
The behaviour of the Bayelsa State Gov't is not consistent with the nature & principles of politics today.
As i was asked to relocate to Abuja for the mean time while sensitive & inteligent politicians, elders of the South-South & others are secretly looking at the matter.
There're imposing plots of using women to trace my residence, & inviting me to local hotels through meaningless manners in Abuja,
but i give God the glory for exposing them, & i know that they're simply turning the load on their heads backwards.
Mr President Sir, the starting point of any government looking to gain control by threats to lives is a fierce loyalty who'll end up destroying your own people, &
therefore, i call that an immediate action been taken to question the government of Bayelsa State before things get out of hand.
Long Live President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Long Live the good people of Bayelsa State, & Nigeria in general.
From Paul Eris, Ogunboss.

We the ward 8 hereby deems it fit to present to our constituency, the local Government and the state as a whole. "A man for the people", honourable Iyenimi Sling. An indegene of Peremabiri Community, born in the late 70's in the city of Port Harcourt. He had his Primary and Secondary education in port harcourt respectively and his tetiary education in Bayelsa State.
There is the necessity to accord kudos to a person of high integrity, who made a man of himself by standing out. This is a pragmatist hence, applies proactive and pre-emptive approaches to issues. Based on these qualities, his personality was admired throughout his tenure of office in the southern Ijaw legislative arm of the peoples Democrative Party after being declared the winner of the 2010 councillorship election. Due to the leadership qualities embedded on him which were admired by his colleagues, he was elected deputy majority leader and later leader of the house respectively.
In conformity with his demonstrative policy, while in the legislative house, he executed projects in all communities he represented; rest houses were built in Peremabiri and Diebu respectively; directional sign post were constructed in all the four communities; thousands of exercise books were distributed to primary and secondary schools in his ward. all these projects were economically embarked upon with the allowances paid to him by the council. All boil down to his Philanthropic way of life.
The people of ward 8 could not pay him either in kind or in cash than to celebrate him as "The People's Councilor", a man of the people.
Apologizing doesn't always mean you are wrong and the other person is right. It just means that you value your relationship more than your ego.
- If your vision is for a year, plant wheat
If your vision is for ten years, plant trees
If your vision is for a life time, plant people
- If you want to get to the destination, you are going to, you don't have to stop and throw stones at every dog that barks at you.
If your vision is for ten years, plant trees
If your vision is for a life time, plant people

She is a product of AMBO reality TV show and she tells whoever cares to listen that her virginity is still intact despite massive sexual harassment in the movie industry. The Adamawa State-born actress even boasts that nothing would make her lose her virginity to another man except her husband. Annabella Zwyndila, who was recently nominated for ZAFAA Awards as Best Upcoming Actress, opens up to The Entertainer about her virginity.
How were you able to overcome sexual urge in the university?
(Laughs) Listen, my dad taught us good morals. My father is an army officer, so I fear him a lot. In fact, I respect him a lot. He is not everywhere but he keeps his eyes on us. Even when I went abroad, he was not there but I didn’t misbehave. While I was in the hostel he was not there with me but the good morals he taught us have kept me till date.
As a virgin, how are you able to cope with temptations here and there?
Actually, that side of me is dead until I get married. Aside avoiding pre-marital sex, I am also a born again Christian and I fear God a lot. I can remember while we were growing up we had that lesson about sexually transmitted diseases and the fear of all those things really kept me away from sex. So, if I must have a relationship we must enter into agreement of no sex. It has to be a smooth relationship but if you feel you can’t wait and you’re so much in a hurry or your body is inching you, then propose. I have all those things in mind but thank God I have found someone who proposed. So, as a married woman, I’ll be free to do it and know I am not committing any sin

All is now set for the 10th edition of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) taking place on April 28, at the newly-renovated Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa.
The Director General of Bayelsa State Tourism Development Agency, Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu Brown, said the state government is ready to host the annual movie awards to celebrate excellence in the movie industry as part of Governor Seriaki Dickson’s commitment to the development of the state’s tourism potential.
According to her, this year’s edition would be bankrolled by the public as efforts are already being made by the agency to organise a fund raising dinner in Lagos to seek partnership and support from corporate organisations and public spirited individuals to help in promoting excellence in the movie industry in Africa.
Brown said government alone cannot continue to sponsor the event given the myriads of its financial commitments; hence the need to resort to the public to ensure continuity of this laudable project.
In a telephone interview, the Chief Executive Officer, AMAA, Peace Ayim Osigwe, disclosed that the screening panel for this year’s award is drawn from across Africa and has so far screened hundreds of films, and out of it, 65 movies have been adjudged good enough to move on to the third level of screening.
According to her, at the third level of screening the movies will again be pruned down to a reasonable number for the final presentation to the award jury.
She assured all stakeholders and interest groups that the panel of judges selected to screen the movies are very sincere and transparent in the screening process adding that the caliber of judges put together this year are highly experienced and above all they are men and women of integrity.

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta on Thursday said it foiled a kidnap incident in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
The JTF Media Coordinator, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, said this at a news briefing where he presented the alleged victim, Patience Agbani, to newsmen in Yenagoa.
Nwachukwu, who said the JTF troop rescued the woman, attributed the feat to the timely information received from the victim.
He urged members of the public in distress to contact the headquarters of the JTF on 0803220 2684 for prompt intervention.
Narrating her ordeal, Agbani said that members of the kidnap gang, numbering six, trailed her on Wednesday night.
She said the suspected kidnappers continued to chase her until she ran into an uncompleted building from where she placed a distress call to the JTF.
According to her, the timely response of the JTF troops compelled the kidnappers, who were on her trail, to retreat.
“When I closed from my shop after 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, as I crossed the road, I noticed that the boys were following me in a very suspicious way and suddenly they started pursing me.
“I ran into an uncompleted building and called the JTF, who arrived almost immediately and the kidnappers who were looking for me ran away on seeing the soldiers.
“That was how they rescued me,” Agbani said. (NAN)

One of our followers on Facebook sent this to me with this comment.
"This is a staff room in Community Secondary School Okutukutu /Etegwe.
The ceiling is open as rain fell and the room became flooded. Diaries, registers and lesson notes were completely soaked up in water.
The govt declared State of Emergency in Education Sector two years ago but up till now Secondary Education in Bayelsa state is joke. Lip service will not help us. Secondary Schools don't even have libraries, laboratories and equipment. What a pity."

The Police in Bayelsa on Tuesday said arrested six suspected kidnappers, who allegedly abducted a woman in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Hilary Opara, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Yenagoa that three AK 47 rifles and other ammunitions were recovered from the hoodlums.
The police boss said that the abducted woman was freed by the police who intercepted the bandits in the Southern Ijaw creeks.
He explained that the suspects had robbed a home at Diabu Community in Southern Ijaw LGA and escaped with some valuables, abducting a woman.
“However, luck ran out on them when some marine policemen intercepted them along the Southern Ijaw waterways and arrested them.
“They are currently being detained and interrogated by the command.”
The commissioner said that the command was tackling criminality, especially kidnapping in the state.
Opara said the police recently arrested over 12 kidnappers in connection with two incidents that occurred in the state.
He advised kidnappers to relocate from the state or be prepared to face the wrath of the law.
“We are working very hard. We are not sleeping. This state cannot accommodate kidnappers and other criminals.
“We will get and deal with them according to the law.”
He urged members of the public to cooperate with the police by providing information that would lead to the arrest of criminals in the state. (NAN)

“We are working very hard. We are not sleeping. This state cannot accommodate kidnappers and other criminals.
“We will get and deal with them according to the law.”
He urged members of the public to cooperate with the police by providing information that would lead to the arrest of criminals in the state. (NAN)

The Bayelsa Government on Tuesday denied media reports that it had filed a suit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over funds looted by its former Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the EFCC had in a statement on Monday said that it was yet to be served court summons for the suit, reportedly filed in a Federal High Court, Abuja, by the government.
Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head, Media and Publicity at EFCC, in the statement, accused the Bayelsa government of using the suit as a ploy to distract the commission from ongoing N14.7 million fraud case against some officials of the government.
NAN recalls that the EFCC had on Feb. 28 arraigned Messrs Apiri Richard Tonye and Paul Charles before Justice Kate Abiri of the Bayelsa State High Court, Yenegoa.
However, a statement issued in Yenagoa by Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Seriake Dickson, denied the involvement of the state government in the said suit.
“The attention of the Bayelsa State Government has been drawn to a publication in some sections of the media entitled `Bayelsa asks EFCC to remit N1.4 billion from Alamieyeseigha’.
“The said reports quoted one Mr George Uboh, Chief Executive of Panic Alert Security System, reportedly acting on the mandate of the Bayelsa State Government, wrote to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to remit the twin sums of N1.4 billion and $1.3 million recovered from a former Governor of the state, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.
“The Bayelsa State Government denies the reports and stated categorically clear that it did not mandate any individual or firm to act on its behalf to request or institute any suit against the EFCC,” the statement read in part.
The statement called on the EFCC and the general public to disregard the publications. (NAN)

Bayelsa State Government has asked an Abuja Federal High Court to order the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to immediately remit to it the sum of N1.4bn, and another $1.3m recovered from a former governor of the state, Diepreye Alamieyesiegha .
The suit was filed by one Mr. George Uboh, the Chief Executive of Panic Alert Security System, who said he was acting with the mandate of the Bayelsa State Government.
According to Uboh, in line with the said mandate, he wrote to the EFCC requesting that the funds be remitted within seven days.
He added that, in response to the letter, he met with officials of the EFCC on December 19, 2013, after which the Commission assured that the remittance would be made within a short time.
Uboh further explained that, following the EFCC’s failure to remit the funds as promised, the Bayelsa State Government had instructed that a suit be filed against the anti-graft agency in a bid to recover the sums.
In a writ of summons issued at the Abuja FHC against EFCC and its Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, the plaintiff alleged that the Commission was trading with the seized funds.
The plaintiff in the writ of summons asked the court to declare that the failure of the EFCC to remit the complete funds recovered from Alamieyesiegha and “subsequently trading with the funds by way of funds placement/fixed deposits is an act of corruption and an economic crime contrary to sections 6 and 7 of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004.”
In the suit, the plaintiff’s counsel, Mr. Anthony Agbonlahor, also asked the court to order the EFCC to immediately remit the funds with the interest.
The plaintiff asked the court to, “direct EFCC to pay to it $400,000.00 being the amount forfeited by its former governor and which funds had since been repatriated by the United States Government to the EFCC.”
Bayelsa State Government also wants the court to order EFCC to pay 21 per cent interest on the N1.4bn and the $1.3m from November 1, 2013, until the final determination of the matter.
